The North Adams Traffic Commission will meet on Monday November 04, 2019 at 6:30pm in the second-floor conference room in the City Hall.

1. Accept the minutes of the August and October meeting.
2. Update the status of the 10 min. parking request on Summer Street by Mike Deep.
3. Update on the placement of the speed limit signs in the Reservoir Rd/ Notch Rd area.
4. Follow up on site visit to the Protection Ave. area prior to mailing out resident letters.
5. Introduce a letter forwarded from the Mayorís office from Nancy Underwood about traffic concerns in North Adams and Clarksburg.
6. Introduce a letter forwarded from Mary Ann King from Sue Perry in regards to a traffic condition on Forrest Street.
7. Vote to bring back a tabled item from Commission member Ian Wilson about Commercial trucks on Bradley Street.
8. Confirm meeting time and day of week.

Meeting Minutes
Nov. 04, 2019
Meeting Called to Order: 6:31pm
Members present: Eric Buddington, MaryAnn King, David Sacco, Amanda Chilson, Paul Markland

1. Accept the minutes of the August and October meeting. Motion to Accept, Seconded, All in Favor.
2. Update the status of the 10 min. parking request on Summer Street by Mike Deep. Traffic Commission is done with this as it has been
3. Update on the placement of the speed limit signs in the Reservoir Rd/ Notch Rd area. Complete. Signs installed.
4. Follow up on site visit to the Protection Ave. area prior to mailing out resident letters. MaryAnn King, David Sacco and Eric Buddington were present for Protection Ave parking issues site visit. Recommendations from site walk are to post the street as No Parking from 2nd house on right after the T-Ball field to Rt. 2 along westerly side, and No Parking from utility pole at driveway entrance to Rt. 2 on easterly side, site maps will be available to view at next meeting, Dave will create these. MaryAnn King will invite residents to next meeting. Motion to write proposal and send residents letter to discuss at next meeting, motion made, motion seconded, all in favor.
5. Introduce a letter forwarded from the Mayorís office from Nancy Underwood about traffic concerns in North Adams and Clarksburg. Paragraph 1 is out of NA traffic commission jurisdiction. Anything that takes place in Clarksburg commission will be forwarded to Clarksburg Chief Williams.

Paragraph 3- A)No trailer truck signage has ever gone through traffic commission to be placed on Franklin. Tractor-trailers do need to go to the nursing home, No recommendation will be made on this. B) 20mph speed limit sign may have not been replaced when new guardrail went in on Franklin St. corner-canít find it located in special speed section in ordinance. The recommendation is to reduce speed limit on corner-beginning at Northern Lights Ave, to where Franklin and Eagle St meet in both directions, this needs to go to Council, Mary Ann will draft letter to council. Motion to create 20mph zone-motion made, motion seconded, motion passed.
C) MaryAnn found in ordinance that there was a No Left turn from Prospect St. onto Eagle St. Will look into replacing sign. (Paul)
Paragraph 4 not North Adams jurisdiction. Commission will send her a letter with copy of the unapproved minutes to Nancy Underwood.
6. Introduce a letter forwarded from Mary Ann King from Sue Perry in regards to a traffic condition on Forrest Street. Motion to Recommend to table to next meeting so commission members can do a site visit of the street before the next meeting, motion seconded, all in favor.
7. Vote to bring back a tabled item from Commission member Ian Wilson about Commercial trucks on Bradley Street. Motion to reconsider, motion seconded, all in favor. Will be on next meetings agenda, with further discussion of commercial traffic on thru streets.
8. Confirm meeting time and day of week. Amanda will email Michelle- 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6pm. Commission members can close City Hall if needed.
