NOTES FOR USING THE COLLECTION: Because the majority of Hoosac Tunnel materials are in the vault, requests for using them must be submitted at least two business days before the day you wish to see them. ~ Photocopying of items in the collection is at the discretion of the Special Collections Librarian or the Reference Librarian. Many items may not be photocopied. Occasionally other arrangements for duplication may be made - please ask the librarian. ~ In order to quote or pubish any materials from this collection, please request "Permission to Publish" on a form available through the Special Collections Department. ~ Other parameters for use may be in effect. Physical Description VOLUME: 53.5 linear inches (5.125 linear feet), plus 695.625 cubic inches (.40 cubic feet) of boxed items, plus 2 drawers of flat files (combined 8 inches deep), plus over 150 printed volumes in stacks and storage. DATES: 1802-2000 (inclusive); (bulk 1860-1880, 1970-1976) Explanations & Abbreviations ACQUISITION: Materials found in the North Adams Public Library, as well as those donated by Ruth B. Browne in and before 2002. Any new acquisitions will be included in this finding aid as they are acquired. ACCESS: Access to these materials is unrestricted. However, researchers are asked to request stored materials at least 48 hours prior to their visit.
